Your tank holds 39 gallons (US) 147 litres, so you could have 3 SAPs. 15g for the first SAP and 10g each for the remaining 2 SAPs

How are we equating 147l? I make it 126l

Just done the maths to double check, L X W X H is 70 x 35 x 60 = 147000, then 147000 / 1000 = 147. I make it 147L
Not sure how you're getting 127L? Unless I've done that wrong? Which is possible, maths isn't my strong point!!

That's how we work out total area, we need to exclude glass and unusable space in the top. I work on appr inner surface minus top space

I don't recommend SAPs (south american puffers). They require 90% crustacean diet and even then you often have to trim their teeth. They like to be in groups of 5 or more and require great swimming length because that's what they do. They also aren't as personable as other puffers.

I never use a calculator they are normally wrong for the reasons I stated in my last post.

I missed the post where the OP stated the thickness of the glass, or depth of the substrate, or the water level?

Since I live in Iceland it is pretty hard to get puffers here.
Sorry about all the noob questions but I have to be sure what I want/need to make a special order.
What I am really looking for is a puffer that could do well and be happy in a 126 liter tank, I am mostly setting this tank up for the plants but puffers are one of my favorite fish.
Dwarfs are bit to small for my taste but I will go for few of them if those are the only one that will feel good in this tank.
Also this tank of mine isn't normal the bottom is only 35x70 so there isn't large swimming area if the fish doesn't swim up and down much.

No puffers swim up and down really. Puffers need more length than anything.

But what do you think, is arrowhead or congo optional with plants or are the dwarfs maybe the only one that could work?

Arrowhead or congo may both work well, because they're both more lurker types. That is, if your tank is really about 33 gallons (126 litres)

This was not mentioned, tanks that size normally have the same thickness glass and at least a 1" void in the top, if you factor this you can more accurately work out a realistic volume. Then you minus substrate etc. If you get a tank that size and measure the water you are putting in I would put money on my estimated volume being very close to the actual.

I have 8mm glass and skip 2 cm on the top so about 126 liters is usable volume in this tank
