Will they ship to Canada in the winter?

Well This lfs is not the brightest so I don't know if they would do any shipping. But I do know that they are ordering these puffers from a Florida supplier. They will not tell me who's their supplier is though. They know that I will order my fish if I really have to, so that might be why..lol. I will see if and what species of fw puffers they do get in.

There is a store in Ontario that says they can get anything in as long as it isn't illegal. It's brand new, I don't know anything about it other than all the fish look great. It looks like they specialize in massive mean fish (MFK style). Kyle has been there and he said that there were only a small number of puffers in a 20+gal tank. Maybe 5? Hopefully it turns out to be a good store.

I don't know if they'll ship but it might be worth asking.

It sounds as though that store is just trying to impress. Seeing as I've known people in the aquatic trade for a while now, and its hard to get fish whether there legal or not at times lol. I hope the store does well, and it would be awesome if they could get some congo puffers haha

Yea that store was brought up on the piranha forums I'm on (I have a shoal of reds), apparently he's actually doing really good, but he hasn't been able to get any fahaka's in.

Yeah I think most petshops don't know much about every kind of exotic fishes that comes out on market. Mainly because of lack of research. I think most dont care or have time doing any online research so it makes them look a lil dumb when they asked questions about certain kinds of fishes and they dont have a real answer. Too bad this goes on with the people that we rely on for our fishes. Just a job to pay the bills and thats about it.

If this lfs that im trying to get one of the species of fw puffers from can't get any like the claim. Then I might have another one just alittle bit farther drive that might beable to help me out since they are a new shop, family owned, and carries saltwater and freshwater fishes. Now still playing the waiting game.

I was told by my LFS, which was told by their supplier, that the season for Congos is late Spring - early Summer.

I'm not sure that they were right... just putting it out there.

I just bought one from FL from fish in a bowl:

His name is Aaron. Havent gotten the fish yet, but he's a nice guy to deal with. He actually contacted me telling me that he had some in stock as I had asked him several weeks ago to keep me posted he got some in.

Mbu are very high priced on that site but the cheapest that I had found them was $130.00. Im not looking for, dont have the money, and nor space for a Mbu. Others was not too bad price though. Yeah, I wonder if they are one of the Florida suppliers that the lfs is ordering from.

Still waiting for one of the 5 species on my list to pop up around here.

I was talking about the Fahaka. Thought you wanted one of those. Mine will be in sometime this week. I'll post a pic when it does. Only place ive seen with Fahakas in the last 4-5 weeks.

It seems as though to me, (correct me if i'm wrong) that mbu's have actually not been that rare this year. My lfs has had easily over 15 mbu puffers at there store within the last 4-5 months. and only about 2 or 3 fahakas, which i currently own two of them. no congos yet(still have my fingers crossed) but i've seen pretty much everything else or know someone who can get it or ship it if anyone is interested.

Yeah I do want a Fahaka but I was just saying that Mbu was sure high priced. Fahaka is #1 on my list that I gave them. Even if they somehow pull it off and get all 5 on the list. I would grab the Fahaka, my 1st choice. But if no Fahaka in this shippment, a Congo or Hairy would be my 2nd choice. Might have to wait after winter to order a Fahaka if this lfs cant get them in anytime soon. Btw, are you ordering yours from another state? And somehow, I've seen that screen name "stuckinthemiddle" from somewhere else but can't place where.
