That's probably just too high. 1.008 is on the high end of what F8s like, so maybe you could take it down a tad, to the lower end at 1.005, and it might work...? Plus it's less salt --> less money.

I could. I'm used to mising the salt for 1.008. But I bought a 50 gallon bag of instant ocean- more gallons for me, of course. I had been buying my salt in baggies for $1 each and finally decided it was a) a waste of $ and b) I'll run out MUCH longer after I bought this bag. (If that makes sense.)

mine seem to love resting ont he sponge filter now. he used to rest under, on top of, by the big log now not so much.

How much current do you have in the tank? my GSP likes to play in the current. he will swim in front of the powerhead and get pushed to the other side of tank then repeat with the powerhead on that side.

if your saying mine, then no. their amazon swords, a bad choice since they'll probably die do to the salt.

Here's mine. I did rearrange it but it doesn't look very much different...

My 55g about 2 months ago. I have a bright blurred fish pic, and a dark crisp fish pic with my puffer in it. The darker one didn't resize well, so I left it a little bigger with the right side getting chopped off in the display... I've since relocated the tetras.

you should fill it back up if it evaporated because you don't want to water to get to salt, nice archer fish.

One of the ways Archers catch their prey is by shooting a stream of water at an insect sitting on leaves, branches or roots that hang over the water. They also like to jump out of the water and snatch their prey mid air. I imagine the lowered water level is to provide more feeding options and entertainment for the fish.
