Feeding My Fahaka

Hi there,

I have ecently started feeding my Fahaka garden worms which he appears to adore is it ok to feed him these. He also eats muscles and live river shrimp.

Not unless your garden has not had any fertilizers or pesticides used in the last decade-20 years, if so, the worms in it will slowly(or sometimes, quickly) poison your puffer to death. Any nearby property, especially any nearby property uphill, will also have to be 100% pesticide and fertilizer free. I'd just buy the trout bait worms they sell at walmart, those are farmed so they're naturally safe. Worms are very nutricious puffer food, once you are sure they're pesticide free.

There's always a risk with garden worms, even if you dont use pesticides, fertilizer etc... that doesnt guarantee they havent been exposed to it in adjoining gardens.

I find it easier to spend a few bucks on nightcrawlers at the local gas station. Enough to last me a few weeks and they are always available, even in winter (for ice fishing).

I would definately avoid the fishing worms that they've somehow "designed" to glow underwater though.. something tells me that can't be good for the fish.

Thanks for the advice but this may seem a stupid question what are night crawlers?, please take into account I live in London, Uk not the States. I dont think we have night crawlers in the UK.
