Give puffers some "official" common names

Post by Corvus »

"Official" common names can be given to several freshwater puffers at fishbase:

http://www.fishbase.com/Summary/species ... mbangensis

http://www.fishbase.com/Summary/species ... nchinensis

http://www.fishbase.com/Summary/species ... sname=abei

See the links above in the linked fishbase pages.

Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Give a fish a man, and he'll eat for weeks.

Right below the name written in black and large letters at the top of the fishbase pages I posted links to are buttons saying:

"Click here to enter a naming competition for this species"
Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Give a fish a man, and he'll eat for weeks.

Palembang and Abei have the link to submit for a name. Dont see it on the Fangs page anymore. Submitted an entry for a laugh.

For me Fang's puffer still has still the link, but if you have visited this page within the last few weeks, your browser might still have the old version loaded from your hard disk. Try re-loadig the fangs page after you visited it. The link should be here now.
