FIG 8 SETUP, HELP PLZ

i have a 40 gal aquarium, and i want to get 2 f8's, i am not new to puffers but i am just wondering if my setup is ok

final stages of cycling
argonite/play sand
40gal
unfortantaly no live plants
overfiltered
very good heater(80 F)
i do plan to upgrade to a 55 in the future(i think all puffers deserve room(lots)

thats my tank any suggestions to make it better

(no live plants 8(

i know all the water requirments and ill sure to make things perfect for them water wise

A background will make it look better (and seems to help stop the puffers from their constant pacing sometimes).

I would agree though, more decor, definately and then you should be set.

Also, set up right infront of a window, make sure the sun doesn't shine on it or you'll have major temperature problems plus all that light is going to grow tons of algae.

based on volume, i'd say you could have 3 figure 8s no problem, especially if you add more decore to break up the eye line

also, give live plants a try --- its a little bit of a pain with the brackish, but it will help keep algae down and keep water clean -- and with a tall tank, a big bunch of vals would look awesome and provide a good backround

I have that very same 1/2 tree you have in there... when I got it I drilled a hole through the bottom and fed the air line through it so the bubbles came up through it.
