Ocean Rock

Can you use ocean rock( white in appearance with holes in it) in brackish tanks with bumblebee gobies and GSPs (not in the same tank btw). Ive heard that the rock leaches out calcium which ups the pH..but BBGs and bracksih puffers like higher pH so it wouldbe alright right? My pH is already 8 and ill be introducing brackish water into the tanks (SG of 0.002) this week) so will the rock raise the pH too much or will it be ok? I see many people use it in pictures and stuff and just wanted to knwo if its alright?

If you mean live rock, its "liveness" dies off at below SG 1.017 or so, roundabout, and it doesn't buffer PH much or at all,, so I'd never put that in a nearly FW tank. If you mean Tufa rock, commonly used in cichlid tanks, and closer to your description of what it looks like, then yes, it's a good addition which will help keep the PH in the ideal range, I use it in my GSP tank and my GF has 2 larges pieces in her figure 8 tank.
