Especially water that the fish has been in for about 24 hours!

This fish was removed from the wild, where he only ate live foods.

didnt realize he was wild caught, but it makes sense after reading"breeding fahakas!" what live foods could i give him

he just ate some blood worms!! much more active . when should I try snails?? will he be able to find them, smell them or what, sorry for all the questions!

Yeah chuck the snails in and the fahaka will hunt them out, just might take him a while. Try not to feed them too big and do not feed Malaysian trumpet snails as they could crack his teeth

If the belly is sunken I would get some IP treatment such as Fubenol if you are in UK. Hold off on using it though and se what the little fella does over the next few days. If he eats and poops normally then you won't need to treat him, however if the poop is white and stringy then you will need to treat for IP's

well, i never see him much, lost in a 180, i dropped e few snails in and some blood worms, the couple times I was able to catch a glimpse he was fat and round, so hes eating. I hope he warms up a little and starts beggin!!

It can sometimes take a week or two (sometimes a little longer) before they become accustomed to their new home. No worries, he'll come around. They are VERY personable.

ya, hate trying to treat whole tank, very expensive, i do have a hospital tank however. he cam right out from behind a heater this morning to load up on blood worms. I love watching him trying to munch on a snail, usually takes a few trys to get it down.

He'd only need to be in a quarantine about 12 hours for flubenol to work, so even if it's not cycled, you'd be alright.

i beleive him to be free of parasites, hes eating gettin fat and havent noticed any white stringy poo
