Well I think its time for me to get a puffer, but i have a few questions. How would a fangs puffer fare in a 20 gallon long tank? Would you guys reccommend a fangs puffer to a puffer "newbie" ? Also are they very active and sociable puffers? And i know most puffers are extremely agressive, so are tankmates a possibility?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Are they other larger puffers that can live in a 20 long( I wish I could get something like a Fahaka but I dont think i could provide for one)?
Just a few questions
Re: Just a few questions
Well after bit of research, im quite confused. The "PufferPedia" says that cochinchinensis require a 20 galllon atank and that they are very active, social, but other sites say they require a smaller tank and are lurker and not very active.

Should do fine in a 20, aggressive little suckers so tankmates wot work. Activity and interactivity will all depend on individual.

Re: Just a few questions
As compared to most other sites, we have a large group of folks that have long-term sucess in keeping puffers. I'd go with what is stated here. A smaller puffer may look comfortable in a smaller tank but with the bioload they produce, the larger the tank, the more dilute it is.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Thanks. I also read that Abei Puffers are nocturnal, so is this true in aquaria?
