I believe she already has him in her 20H as she said she had acclimated him and fed him already. The 20H will be a good size for a hospital tank anyways as she treats him for IPs.

Whoo, had a reply typed out at home, but fell asleep on the couch while waiting for the pictures to upload to Photobucket. Was 5 minutes late to work!

So yes, Paris is home and settled in. He/she has already figured out that I'm the food source and greets me at the glass (yesterday was a bit scared of me and actually puffed once when I approached the tank). Ate a nightcrawler today. The belly is very concave although it won't show up much in these photos. Even after eating there's only a tiny bulge. I figure I'll fast him/her tomorrow then try some of those canned shrimp soaked in the metronidazole/levamisole deworming recipe the following day. I was going to wait, but he/she settled in so quickly I'm going to try now and hopefully get the antiparasite treatment done so the move to the 75 can happen as quickly as possible.

The name Paris just sort of fit... disgustingly skinny for one, full of "paris"-sites for another.. and of course blond "hair" and blue eyes ROFL.

A quick search shows he's a lined burrfish, not a webb...

BTW, he's about 4" total length. A bit bigger than my turgidus I would say, although he looks smaller because he's so thin.

He/she looks exactly the same as mine, which was ID'd by Puffer Queen as a Chilomycterus schoepfi. What a beautiful puff! Just an inch shorter than mine!

That belly is really bad... I thought mine was really skinny. Once the belly begins to 'pudge' after feeding and then remains flat he'll be at a good weight. These guys, as I said in my previous post, seem to put on weight on their fishy equivalent of their 'love-handles' and not on their bellies.

Thanks Michelle! He is sooo thin, thank goodness he's happy to eat. I haven't seen him pass any poo yet at home but at the store I noticed everything he ate was coming out looking exactly the same way it went in, which could have been due to the improper diet. I couldnt' believe how excited he was when he found a few empty ramshorn snails floating in the tank (they were stuck to the filter I think), I certianly would never put any sort of snail or crab in a tank with him and expect them to survive.

Myaj, I'm so jealous. Paris sure is cute! I'm sure you'll be a great mom and heal paris nicely. It's awesome that he is eating too! I can't wait to get one of my own

And today Paris ate some shrimp soaked in deworming meds.

Had no problem getting him to eat them, although he definately chewed them up less enthusastically then normal. Ate a fair amount too, so I'm hoping to see some improvement quickly.

Poor little Paris! I'm so glad he ended up in such good hands. I hope he makes a swift recovery and becomes the fat happy burrfish he's meant to be!

That's great news, he seems to be a better feeder than mine! What meds are you soaking his food in?

Right now, Metronidazole and Levimasole, that's what I always have used for deworming with good results.

He was a little bloated looking last night (constipated maybe?) but its passed today. Off to give him a good water change.

Just thought I'd post a little update.

Paris is doing wonderfully! Growing like a weed, the belly is still concave but not extremely sunken in like it was when I first got her. Very friendly, always hungry, willing to eat anything I give her, which is a blessing.

She's very, very quick to puff up though! If I wear a baseball cap or someone she doesn't know walks into the room she immediately puffs up. Doesn't act scared, just like she's trying to look tough so you don't mess with her.

I'll have to get pictures up. And start planning out this huge shuffle of fish so I can get her into the 75 soon!

Nice to hear she is doing so well! I hope one day I'll get one that excepts food too!
