Fahaka temp.

Post by Moezy420 »

Hey guys we have had a little bit of a heat spell the last couple days My coffee Shop does not have AC so the water temp in D-Bo's Tank is fluctuating up and down about 4 degrees between morning and night. In the morning it is like 78 F and by afternoon it is sometimes as high as 84F but most of the time about 82f Short of getting him his own AC unit is there special tricks to keep the temp down? He seems super happy he eats a couple gut loaded ghost shrimps or a frozen clam on the half shell. He pretty much loves anything you put in his tank but I would like a little more consistent water temp.

Does the tank have a heater? It needs a heater in order to help keep it from fluctuating, which can lead to illness. To keep it from getting too high, you can get fans to blow across the top of the water, or if you have the money, invest in a chiller.

I have heaters 2 200 w heaters but no chiller. I am looking online for a chiller what about taking them from a 120 to a 150 that might help with more water mass it would be harder to get fluctuations right?

That looks like a controller to use after I get a chiller. I have been looking around for a good inexpensive chiller I have found a few for around $400 us I am going to probably end up going that route all though all yesterday I had a fan blowing across the top of the tank and the temp never went above 80 f thanks boxermom I will keep you guys posted.
