--- night is a good time to give them, but i also just drop them in when he isnt looking. if i dont feed him when i approach the tank, he stops begging after a while and goes about his business again, once he is behind a plant or something, i drop them

when i first started giving him snails, he was on hunger strike from the move for a week or so, and a few of those snails stayed alive for a couple of days, until he devoured them of course (so i think they can make it over night, most of them at least)
