Hello all, new to the forum here. Great website, I have learned alot of information here. I have a humpback puffer that I have some questions about feeding. I am currently feeding him earthworms, gut loaded ghost shrimp, red clawed crabs, and occasionaly duped into eating some frozen sand eels. He is really all about eating the live stuff and eating anything moving fast. I cant get him to eat any snails. He pays to attention to them and lets them just hang out in the tank. I have tried some pond snails and ramshorns snails. Anybody else have any puffers that dont want snails or is my guy just picky? Will the crabs be sufficient enough to keep the teeth worn or will I have to resort to something else? Thanks.
Jon

Anything crunchy will do. My Congo puffer doesn't touch snails.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

You could try ther old tie it to a bit of string trick and whizz it about the tank, shell on prawns will work well, not too sure if you could get a snail on a string though

Re: Some humpback puffer feeding questions
I went to walmart and bought some cheap fishing line. I attach it to the frozen sand eels, only after I thaw them, then try to fish for him. He will go after them and eat it, but after about 3 of them he kind of figures out that they arent really alive so he gives up. I guess he likes it when the food is still moving after he bites into it. I dont know.
