How long does it take a GSP to reach full size?

I have a 1.5" in my 40gal with some mollys and monos and I just want to know when he'll reach his full size so I can get him another tank :)

They grow quite fast. I would definitely separate them out as soon as possible, as mollies have a tendency to bully GSPs.

Mine went form 1inch to 2inchs in 3weeks. If given nice water conditions and a great diet they grow like a weed!

hmmm... really? I have the Silver Mollies and they seem to be scared of the GSP becuz my GSP sometimes chases him around... LOL... I know mollies can sometimes be a bully because my cousin has one and that molly acts like he's the king of the aquarium pecking anything he sees.

I'd disagree, and say that in most home aquariums, GSP's grow very slowly in my experience. Keeping them in the cleanest of water conditions and feeding them a great diet is the best wya to get them to grow fast.

Check the pufferpedia for a feeding article for puffers.

Shakespeare went from 1.5" to 2.5" in only a few months, but he's only just over 3 now in quite a bit longer... I'm pretty sure he needs more space, I'll update on if he increases growth rate when he gets into his 65 gallon. (Sometime in the next couple weeks.)

Fella,

I have to agree with you. It doesn't appear to me that Stanley, my GSP, has grown that much in the year I have owned him.

Mine went from a half inch to over 3 inches in less than a year, but slowed down a bit after that.
