Thinking about live plants.

I have a couple of figure 8's in a 45 gallon tank, just curious of the different things I have to consider when putting live plants in. Still sorta new to the puffers, love them to death, and I'm looking forward to getting a saltwater tank in the future. (I just love those dog faced puffers) Any tips that you guys are willing to part with will be greatly appreciated, and awesome site!

there are a lot of great plants that can survive in low end brackish, which is perfect for figure 8's

the biggest headache with planting an established brac tank is acclimating to plants to your SG. you cant do it over a couple of hours, like you would fish. you need weeks. so, you can bring your tank down to .001 or so, then plant, wait a few weeks for the plants to take hold and start looking healthy, and then start the march back up to .005 or so

personally, ive had success with java moss, java fern, moss balls, cambomba, crypt ciliata, hornwart and vals

there are a bunch of people on this forum that helped me, so hopefully they will chime in for you

what kind of lighting are you considering?? watts/per/gal, etc?
