Hey guys...This isn't my puffer but a friends....it was sold to her as a red eye puffer, but those stay around 3 inches right? Well this guys is 5 inches inckuding his tail....
what do you guys think he could be?

okay well now i am almost positive that you are right...i am waiting for my friend to get back online and i will show her....
but i have noticed that the puff can range from fresh water to brack water...which one is correct? She has hers in Fresh right now and has had him like that since she got him, which was early on this year....

Fishbase lists T. leirus as both FW & BW.
This fish has not been common enough in the hobby for long enough for us to have any real basis to call one way or the the other.
A 6" nasty is not likely to ever reach great popularity, it will likely always be a collector's fish. But from that view, it is a dandy one.
I have a weakness for fish that like current, and per Fishbase, this one prefers flowing water. Now if I see one, I'll have to get it!
