Questions bout GSP teeth

I buy them at walmart, as they are cultured, and don't have a risk of having fertilizers or pesticides in them, as I might with locally collected bait. I rinse them briefly in tap water, and usually toss one whole one in at a time, directly to Shakespeare. Jillybean will steal more then enough for her, and he will get a decent bellyfull. My GFs figure 8 Puffy gets one worm this size every day, usually one half in the morning, one half later.

are live meal worms good? I live on a farm, we just cleaned out an old grain bin and found zillions of mealworms at the bottom. Petey seems to like them, but should I be giving them to him as a staple? I am confused by the snail legality issue... are they or aren't they and can they be mailed over state lines?

Meal worms are very fatty so should only be used as rare, occasional treats.

Apple snails can be mailed over state lines with a permit. For all others, there are no restrictions.

Just wanted to say thank you, i pretty much had the same questions that were answerd. My LPS guy said the snails werent nessceary for my F8 or my GSP, and apperently they are.

I think this is because they think they live a a couple years at most, since thats all most will live in FW with "standard" tropical fish care and foods. With a poor diet, no space, and full FW, most keepers would never have them long enough to notice a tooth problem.
