Converting to brackish

I just picked up my first puffer a couple days ago from petCo. I bought it as a freshwater leopard puffer but it obviously is not its a GSP so i'm slowly converting to a brackish setup, Got a hydrometer and salt today

I want to know if I can put scats or gobies in with him? Or what does everyone suggest would go well with a GSP? Other puffers? Please suggestions are welcomed I don't know a whole lot about brackish aquariums but i want too

A GSP will likely nip any tankmate that does not bully it, and if they bully it, it will be suffering itself. Another GSP or a cylon puffer are really the only possible tankmates, and then only if they are tolerent types. It will eventually need a high brackish or marine level of salt most low end brackish fish you could get for with it now would not do well later. How did you cycle the tank for the puffer? If it's an established tank you added him to, you have to increase the salt level slowly so as not to upset the biofilter.

How large is the tank? You'd need it to pretty big to add a scat.

Well first off thanks for the replys

The tank he is in right now is a fully established tank 30g with 10x's filtration the tank has been running for over a year and I have 0amm 0nitrites and about 10nitrates with a Ph of 7.4

I do have an additional 90gallon that is empty at the moment so I could up grade if the scats got to big? How big do they get i've only ever seen them small like 3" tops

LOL, they grow as large as a dinnerplate! They are extremly messy, considered the garbage cans/oscars/goldfish of the BW world.

Haha well I guess scats are out of the question then no biggy

So what would be a (for lack of a better word) cool addition to my GSP?

In a 30g I personally wouldn't add anything else.

Nothing, seriously. It's just a bad idea in the current tank, if you have a 90 gallon free, why not add the puffer to that, and maybe add a one ceylon or a couple more gsp's, I have the rare pair of GSP's that like their cospecifics, and you can always place the other gsp in the 30 if things get nippy. Eventually you could take it to marine SG when they grow up, and save money on water changes by using a skimmer and LR.
