Sexing Fahaka

Post by xtc »

I've read thru the library, googled it and gone back a few pages here to see if this had been asked- but I didn't see it.

Can Fahaka's be sexed?

TIA

Nope. Females pee on the floor too. If it lifts its leg to pee, its a male. :p

I've heard the females will fill up with eggs now and again if you are a very astute observer and have enough experienice. I've also heard trying to breed them often kills both fish though, as they are so large and can do so much damage to each other in no time.

Hmm, I guess watch for egg buildup, once he/she is old enough.
