Aw, he looks just like my little guy who recently passed... Very cute Hawaiian Spotted.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. If I lost him my tanks would be blah and he's the reason I got back into saltwater after I lost my F8's. I can't get his spots to show up blue tho when I take a picture of him, kinda disappointing.

He's in a 55 gallon, I have a 90 sitting in the shed, no room for it tho. I was in the middle of a water change, hence the tank. His spots were showing so I tried to snap a couple of pics quick like. Seems like I get more water on the floor then in the tank lol. In there with him I have a Jewel Damsel, Royal Gramma, Diamond Watchman Goby, and of course everyone has to have a Firefish. I'll get some pics of the tank later, I have some clarity issues i'm working on (tanks hazy).

Mine changed his spots when he was excited, especially during feeding. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful in getting a camera to pick up his color changes properly.

These guys are fantastic, aren't they? It 'twas a Hawaiian Spotted that inspired me to go Salt as well!

Its quite a site to see there spots turn blue, I just wish I could catch it with a camera. Did yours spaz out whenever you enter the room, mine does. I would suggest anyone whos looking for a smaller puffer to become the center of your tank, Hawaiian is the way to go

Oh yeah- mine was a little attention hog! He was very bold and was begging from day 1. I began to peek around the corner of the room at his tank to see when he would notice me and start his 'happy dance', and he was amazingly observant!

My father-in-law came over one day and sat next to the tank and was surprised to see this small creature buzzing madly around his tank making eye contact with him. He demanded we feed the naughty little puff (my father-in-law over feeds any living creature that comes within a 1/2 mile of his house...) and we had one heck of a time explaining him that he had just eaten and he will eat till he bursts.

Anyways, I agree on your recommendation. These are the coolest puffers and they have SO much personality.

You will definitely not be disappointed if you get one. One of the other things that attracted me to them is that you don't need a big tank. The only thing I've ever worried about is sometimes he gets too excited and will bump into the glass, not too hard. He just gets excited and doesn't pay attention to where he's going. Honestly I've been thinking of getting another one to put in my Dog face tank.
