caring for a mbu puffer

i would like to ask a question. anyone that had luck raising a mbu puffer, could you let me know how your take is setup and the levels you keep them at. also if you had one die and some symptoms it had before they died. I had two and both died.

The most important thing is to read the sticky on Mbu puffers. Largely, the problem is that they are HUGE, and fast growing, and messy. Starting a small one in less than a tank over 100 gallons if a poor idea with the growth rate, and having construction started on an indoor pond/superaquarium of preferably 1000 gallons is recommended. They will get 2-3 feet long in the wild, they are really difficult to keep properly in aquaria.

You need a bigger tnak than you can probably give space too. I ahve one myslef an love him to bits but realise that I am on borrowed time. If I had my time again I would not have purchased him for the tank I have but and ideally I would get a 10ftx4ftx4ft tank for him alone.

They are huge fish that reqiure a lot of space and interest in the thei tank. If I'm honest they should be left in the wild
