Wedge died after about 2 weeks of struggling with a sucken stomach which is likely to be due to internal parasite. He had difficulty getting the food into his mouth and I thought once he plumps up, I could knock him out to check if his teeth were overgrown. Sadly, he didn't give me a chance to do so.
Here is a pic of him. He was called Wedge because when we first got him, he hid under the air pump the whole time.
I am very sorry for your loss. I am also in the process of de-parasiting my two figure 8 puffers. What treatment option had you tried? I have spent the last two weeks using Jungle labs parasite treatmet dissolved in the food at a "very" high ratio. After two weeks it was not successful. I just ordered flubenol-15 which is supposed to be a water treatment (no neat to treat the food). If you find yourself with a new puffer with parasites I am willing to help you out with flubenol-15 as I bought twice as much as I needed.

Bought as a leiurus, maybe a turgidus (Tiger), 1x c. irrubesco (Tott(a) aka Houdini) 1x c. salivator (Jack the Ripper), 1x m. cochinchinensis (Hufflepuff - R.I.P.), 2x c. lorteti (Tommy and Tigern = Calvin and Hubbes), 1x m. suvatti (Koseklumpen), 1x m. palembangensis (Dragonfly), 2x t. biocellatus (Koken and Fiken).

Losing loved fish is very sad indeed. I lost a few fishes while away on vacation recently. Luckily none of them were puffers - that would be even worse. I know how you feel, though
