How many SAPs can I have in my tank?
How many SAPs can I have in my tank?
I've just given away some of my fish and right now I'm kind of wondering if it's ok to have 4 SAPs in my 90 L tank. I already have 2 but will it be ok if I buy two more? The more, the merrier

I think two is pushing it a bit already, get a nitrate test kit if you don't have one already and make sure you are doing enough volume of water change to keep your nitrates down.
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.
I change about 30-40% of the water every week. What about 3? I'll check and see if I can borrow a nitrate test kit from someone I know tomorrow.
Your opinion would be very much appreciated, fellow SAP owners

I think two is pushing it, if anyone here with SAP thinks otherwise please say. My understanding is they really like space to swim and current to swim against.

It's recommended to have 1 per 15 gallons of water. I have seen some say they recommend 20 gals per south american puffer. To put 3? or 4? in a 20 gal tank?
Maybe someone who knows the puffer really well can reflect on this. I just hate to think of a tank crowded with puffers (2 or more) and how pitiful that fish must feel to be couped up in that tank. With a tank your size, its a double edge sword. They love to be together, yet you're most likely going to crowd them.
I would recommend buying a bigger tank if your dead set on having them.
However, I'm sure you'll do as you wish, just try thinking about the fish.

and we're not even talking about actual water volume are we? because its even less if not
