Can C. irrubesco be kept in pairs/trios?

Hey there,

As the title suggests can this be done?

I have a male and was wondering if i could put
in a female (or two?) ?

I see now that you have a 20g tank for him...
I recommend having more than one female (if you want females) , but you need a bigger tank.

You can always try... But like my salivator pair the male will probably case her a lot... And maybe kill her (more likely in a tank at that size)

Can I ask why you want more females? One puffer can be very funny as well :P I know the Carinotetraodons can be a little bit shy but you can get lucky like me :wink:

LOL!

I dont feel the need to get
another puffer, just thought he
would be lonely and like some
eye candy :lol:

I just fed him some muscle and
you can hear him chewing through
the tank :shock:

He's in really good nick tbh,
I work at the lfs i got him from
so i had choice cut lol

His tail is really bright red compaired
to some photos i've seen on here!

Oh and last thing lol He's really
active and comes to the glass
for a "stare off"! every time i
get close.

Do these guys need any special care?
