Today I went to the shop to pick up two of those. They were scarily alike irrubesco, and I now have found out that they should be too. There's only one big difference, and that's the color of the tail. I haven't had the chance to check on that yet, as they still are in their plastic bag. I cross my fingers that it's not irrubesco, but what they sold them as. Not that I don't like irrubescos (I already have two of them

), but I want lorteti too

It seems like lorteti. It's a bit early to say for sure, but it looks like there's nothing red on the male's tail, and that means lorteti

(according to Woland, and I think he knows what he is talking about

)

I'll just give them some time to settle in, and will have a new look tomorrow, in daylight

Maybe they are a bit too small yet also. But it looks good! They are about the same size as my irrubescos, and the tail is really different

Nice to have something to compare with.

Not yet, but it will be. I will have to give them time to settle in. They are a bit shy yet. So I will leave them in peace for today. But if you want to see what they are like, find a pic of c. irrubesco, and just change the color of the male's tail.

Make sure they are in at least a 20g tank, w/tons of decor. My female lorteti killed her 2 female tank mates & then the male, after spawning w/her 3 times. They were in a 10g.

They have 22 G, all by themselves. A pair. So far they seem like they go well together. But who knows? They are puffers, after all

And I've only had them for a day.

I'm working on the heavily planted thing. I bought plants today, but still have to plant them

But they are very tiny yet. Am I right that they are more aggressive than irrubesco? I seems like that from what I've read.

The male seems to be a bit afraid of the female, so I withdraw the statement that they seem to go along. I haven't seen anything bad, but he seems to have respect of her.

Anyway, here's some pics. They are terrible, but those little terrorists are not easy to get on film (or rather memory card). As with other tiny puffers: they aren't staying much still!
