Irrubesco missing

Post by Troender »

Today was the day for finally giving my irrubescos the room they need. So far, they've been living in a tank far to small, and that have given me a bad feeling. But finally they would get their new home. When catching them for the transfer, I couldn't find more than one. I now have removed everything but the filter in the tank, and there is just one irrubesco present. The female is gone. Buhu

Where has she gone? There is no trace of her. Has the male killed and eaten her? There aren't even bones left. Has she jumped out? I broke the glass cover a few days ago (one more thing to add to this bad week), and had nothing else to use to cover it. And I knew that they were to get a new home right away. But I can't find her on the floor either.

Well, this is one more thing to add to the bad, bad week. I'm glad it's over now. But I miss my little Tott. I was so looking forward to giving them a new and better home.

This is the strangest thing...
I had a look into the tank where my lonely irrobesco had been transferred, and suddenly they were two??? I had to look over and over again, and they still were two! What the... I know I only transferred one of them, but the missing irrubesco has materialized into their new home! :hyper: I couldn't be happier! The only thing I can think of is that she had hid inside the algae ball I also transferred. That's the only possible solution. I am reeeeaaaally, really happy :-D

Well, it seems like the bad week is over and a better one has begun (it's 0:47 here), and if the new week continue like this, I probably will end up with puffer fry in the end

OMG I'm relieved! :happydance: I just had to give them their favorite meal: shrimps - even though it's not shrimp day for them. One of them is really, really blown up by food now, as he was the first one to start eating. OMG Tott is still alive! What a relief! My lovely little fish :-) :o

If she hid inside the algae ball, she would have had quite an experience though. I squeezed the ball lightly, to remove some water before moving it. If she was inside... Well, she couldn't have been anywhere else.

I still can't believe it! I haven't seen her today, though. But that is quite normal. I wonder if she has hid in the same place again. If she has, she is a tough one
