I know with wild caught catfish (synos in particular) that there is a seasonality to availability. For catfish it's usually September-November from memory. Correct me if I got that wrong though.
I'm assuming there is for puffers too (since there's so few TB available) and wondered if anyone could tell me when this is?
The tropics may be warmish all the time, but they do have pronounced seasons, especially rainy/flood versus relatively dry. Capture will be at the times of year the fish are most accessible.
I think there does seem to be specific months when some puffers seem more readily available. Last year August September time if I recall correctly the UK market seemed to have a lot of Mbu's for sale. In the last month there seems to be a lot of juvenile F8's popping up.
