Just waiting!

Post by Maxx »

Hey there all! I'm just waiting for my mate to finish packing up over next few days (can't keep nagging him lol) and then i can get my 6ft tank :D

But in the mean time i currently have a 70 litre tank with a crayfish, 3 small chilids, and 10 or so algae shrimp. And in my frustration I'm gonna trade in my cray and chilids for some plants and after a while get 3 or so DP's.
Just wandering 1. How long shall i wait before adding the DPs after adding the plants?
2. What exactly are these "moss balls" i keep seeing everywhere? What do they do? and what are they for?

Any other advice is welcome 8)

I don't know what they do but I have one... It just sits around and the fish poke at it... Mine looked like it was dying for awhile but now it's getting bigger.. lol.

Just more decoration, I don't know anything about them though :)

I think every Joe Schmoe thinks they are magical algae balls that will make your tank more healthy or something.

I have no experience with DPs.. but I would add the plants and the DPs at the exact same time to confuse all the fish. Rearranging rocks/plants sends fish to "find new home, explore new areas" mode... just my 2 cents.
