Puffer Recommendation?

Having seen my Mbu (this thread), a friend of mine has decided to change his tropical freshwater setup and get a puffer (or puffers) and nothing else.

Trouble is he only has (and has room for) a 100ltr tank - so an Mbu is out of the question yet the whole reason for this change is that he thinks the Mbu's character is great (could just be the individual puffer I realise).

What would be your recommendation for a similarly charactered puffer (or puffers) that would be ok in his tank?

What species are available locally?

I've seen Figure of 8s, dwarfs and Fahakas in the LFS but I think we can pretty much get our hands on anything that isn't rare.

OK just been having a trawl through the PufferPedia and the following would fit the tank:

Auriglobus modestus - Bronze Puffer
Carinotetraodon borneensis - Bornean red eye puffer
Carinotetraodon irrubesco - Red Tailed Redeye Puffer
Carinotetraodon salivator - Striped Redeye Puffer
Carinotetraodon travancoricus - Dwarf Puffer
Colomesus asellus - South American Puffer
Tetraodon cochinchinensis - Fangs Puffer
Tetraodon cutcutia - Common Puffer
Tetraodon duboisi - Dubois' Freshwater Puffer
Tetraodon turgidus - Brown Puffer

Any experiences on character on their own or in groups?

IME, the irrubesco is quite shy, preferring to hide rather than be out the front.

My dwarf is very bold and inquisitive

And my SAP is an absolute phsycho fish!! Never stops ramming the glass

I'll get a preference off him whether he would prefer a single or group.

100 litres so were talking about 22UK/26US gallons. I think a group of 5 Dwarf Puffers would be nice Plenty of activity going off with them.

A single Abei would go in that tank also.
