I was wondering one more thing,
I have a 75 gallon reef tank with a couple of clowns, 5 chromis and 4 cleaner shrimp, what risk is there of putting my 2.5" GSP in with the gang? He seems to have no interest in the 7 ghost shrimp in his tank so maybe he won't bother the cleaner shrimp?!?
I also have coral and one clam.
If this sounds like a possibility, how do I raise his salt, he's in 1.012 right now. How long should it take to bring him up to 1.024

That's his favorite food right now, still working on raising snails but the supply is really low right now in this area.
My daughter has a porc and a saddled toby, would he be ok with them?
She has a fifty right now, she upgraded from the 35 mentioned in my other OCD post especially for the porc. Her plans are to upgrade again when he reaches 5" (he's 3-3.5" right now) or put him up for adoption if she can't afford to upgrade. She was able to do a quick fix upgrade because the equipment was still ok for the new tank size but the next will be tank and equipment.
She should never of bought the little guy and come home and read up on him first but she said he was giving her the googly eyes and what clinched it was the LFS said 20 gallons would be ok for him and that he wouldn't get bigger than 6"!
I do suspect that they are correct in that given 20 gallons, he will not grow to more than 6 inches...

Personally, I wouldn't do it. The risk to the corals is pretty high, clownfish can be nasty little buggars and any puffer is a high bioload to add to any tank. Stocking wise it doesn't sound too bad, but marine systems can be so touchy, and if he kills a coral the whole thing can go out of whack..
Has anyone heard about capturing the puffers in a cup instead of a net. They cant come out of the water and if they draw in air they might no be able to release it. I want my puffer to puff.
Yes, I always catch them in a container and insist that the store do the same. You do NOT want your puffer to puff, especially out of the water. It can die if it does.
He is now in his own 29 gal. It is freshwater, he has lived in that now for 9 months with me and i dont know how old he was when i bought him. But my boyfriend wanted him and i didn't. Now i cant stay away from him he is so stinking cute. Those little teeth. Should i feed him a frozen block of krill every 24 hours or is that to much or to little he is 2 inches long. HE also eats blood worms, ghost shrimp. and snails. I have a hard time finding pond snails. I am here in MINNESOTA and the stores dont seem to carry them. so i know now i have to get some marine salt and put little by little by little so i can make it somewhat brackish for him. He seems very happy in what hes in but i know it needs to be a little different. Read this and give me any advice k i will appreciate it.

Krill is not a good staple, it very often leads to constipation issues which can cause death. There's also a food article in our library that will help you find a varied diet for him.
So he loves krill and i cant give it to him. I only fed him 2 cubes in the last 2 days. I feed him a cube of frozen stuff when its night. He likes the dark, not pitch black but not bright lighted either. K so it constipates them I hope that don't hurt him what i have already fed um. thank you for letting me know. he wont get anymore.
Its fine as an occasional treat but we don't recommend it as a staple.
I'm a bit concerned that you've had him for 9 months and he's only 2 inches long. He should be bigger than that. Was he in a smaller tank before? It sounds like he may have been stunted.
Have you read the GSP article yet? If you don't have one already, you'll need either a hydrometer or refractometer to measure the SG (salinity). You need to be careful and not raise it more than 1.002 per week or you risk killing the good bacteria. Most of us seem to find a refractometer easier to use and more accurate, and they can be obtained on Ebay relatively cheap.
As far as the snails, they don't have to be pond snails. You can use baby apple snails or ramshorns, and raise them yourself. Many pet/fish stores will give away pest snails for free or inexpensively. Just make sure they aren't Malaysian Trumpet snails, which look like pointed ice cream cones. They have been known to break puffer's teeth.
I think u are right about him being stunted. He lived in my 29 gal tank with my other fish. He was good for about a week and then i had to divide him from the others. I got a divider from the lfs store and gave him half of the tank for about 6 months and then he went on his own in a 10 gal for about 3 months. We moved and now he is in a 29 gal by himself. I dont have a refractometer or marine salt in there. He has lived in fresh water this whole time. See i didnt know about the stunt stuff till after having him for a while.
