porcupine puffer weird behavior?

as the resident PP guy i can tell you that the pacing of the glass is fairly normal in a set up tank of several months to several years. for your tank i would closely watch the ammonia nitrite and nitrate levels incase they are swinging. as for slowing a puffer down a Porc is at its best in 75 degree water it is less hungry and less active so it does not constantly pace the tank. LR is also a good answer but if you have a Porc get it on frozen foods so it doesnt waste the LR of anything interesting to see.

Oh, that's too bad you returned them. I have 3 porky puffs and they LOVE their reflections. It's a big problem when I swim them in the water tunnel. Adding decos to their homes hasn't helped for me. They're perpetually waiting for someone to feed them too. I moved 2 tanks closer together so they could see each other and that helped. I'm sure they're bored and would like to live with each other. I believe porkys live in harems?

idk most puffers that we see in the trade are solitary creatures who only get together to mate (diodon holocanthus) as for some others they prefer company, but my puffers have always loved angelfish and clownfish to chill together. my first prok would hang with two triggers i had.

You never know what you'll get....have you seen the pics of Martha the fahaka letting her tankmate REST on her back?!?!
I'd give the porcs another go, bearing in mind and trying out the advice you've had from experienced porc keepers.
I'd love to keep one, but there'd be no room for us once the tank was in the flat!
