How rare or soughtafter are Carinotetraodon lorteti ?

Depends on where you're located. Many of the more rare puffers can be seasonal.

Do you see Carinotetraodon lorteti more often than Carinotetraodon irrubesco on the other side of the pond?

I haven't seen an irrubesco in over 5 years...

Then again, I've never seen a lorteti...

I think i may have found some lorteti... pics soon! Then you can all tell me your thoughts.
Ps,these are real small,so id might be even more difficult in an allready hard to distinguish group.

They have T. irrubesco puffers in the Chinese mall at Dundas and Spadina (SW corner). They are $29.99. That is way too much for this puffer; otherwise, I would have bought two.

which I had at first hoped might be irrubesco, but if you check the next link

they list them as lorteti so I am not too sure. If they are irrubesco, I would love to have them, but if they are, this place is using the wrong name and that makes me leery of them.

Most people say that place will not send you a photo and usually when you contact them for the irrubescos they are out anyways.

Thanks for the heads up. I have been checking around hoping to find a trio of irrubesco or a miurus in red without any luck. I am about ready to just get the fig8 or gsp that I commonly find because I know that no sooner will I get the new puff(s) settled and fall in love I will find either of the above and have to come home with them.....plus another tank!
