puffer for a 26g

i just got two new tanks for free, a 10g and a 26g(36"-10"-18"), and was thinking about getting some puffers. I heard they had lots of personality and were very intelligent but other than that i don't know anything about them. What kind of puffers would do well in my 26g and/or 10g?

Your best bet is probably to start by finding out what is available to you, then research each to see if it is right for you.

ya check the puffer pedia and see what you like and what is available to you localy. Puffers are one of the coolest fish you can keep. Make sure your tank is fully cycled before adding any new puffers.

thanks for the replies, i looked in the puffer pedia and saw a lot of species i liked. Are there any good places to order puffers online, because i don't want to be restricted to what i have locally (dwarfs, green spots and fig 8s). The species i liked were the dwarfs, giant puffer( maybe someday), south amercan, red eye red tail, brown puffer, palembang, arrowhead and fangs puffer. i was thinking about setting up a puffer community in my 26 and then having a couple dwarfs in my 10g, will that work? Will any of these species eat crayfish? the crayfish around where i live get about 5 inches long but i can catch them smaller than that.

puffer comunities or tanks with multiple different species tend to not work

think about if you want plants or brackish. you might beable to have a coupple saps in there or a fangs puff. these smaller puffs only eat small crayfish. and with all puffers a veried diet is important .

after more research in the puffer pedia ive come up with a couple setups. i'm gonna stick to fw instead of bw. for the 26, i was thinking either just a congo puffer, brown puffer, abei puffer or fangs puffer(which one has the most personality?), or a couple sap's and another peacful species. for the 10g i was thinking either a couple dwarfs or a single red eye. Will all these setups work or are their some that won't?

The only problem with your plan is the availability of those types of puffers. That's why I suggested seeing what is available to you first. I've never seen most of those for sale anywhere, online or at the LFSes around here.
