Hi everyone. I just joined this forum and have come across some great articles. Thanks to everyone for sharing their knowledge.
I purchased two brackish dwarf puffers about a month ago...at least that's the name they were sold under. They are yellowish-green with black spots and are about 3 - 4 inches in length. In looking through the different water categories on this site (brackish vs fresh) I have noticed that dwarf puffers are contained in the Fresh Water Biotope Care forum. They seen to be thriving in their current environment (salinity of 1.015), but are my puffers supposed to be fresh water?

Welcome to the site. If I was to hazard a guess I would say you have Green Spotted Puffers, click on the Pufferpedia under the top banner and see if you can identify which are your puffers from the ones listed. I suggest you start in brackish puffers as it sounds like you definitely havent got a freshwater species.

They're fun and full of personality but, MAN, are they beggars. They will just float with their nose to the tank and stare at us like little starving puppies. My clown fish in my SW tank are the same way, but the clowns aren't as pathetic looking LOL I won't be able to get pictures until next week. We have new carpet coming this weekend and have to tear down the SW tank probably starting tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to that adventure.
