Puffer for 20 long
Puffer for 20 long
What are some good puffer species that would do well in a 20 long? I am looking for an active species. I was thinking of either DP's,SAP, or a red eye.

First see what you can find locally. Red eyes are awesome, but can be very hard to find, I've only seen them in stores once, my entire life.
SAP's are very active, hyperactive even. They do need lots of snails and routine teeth trimming though, so make sure you are comfortable with that idea.
Dwarf puffers are cute little buggars, but very small, and they spend a lot of time hunting around in the decor, so sometimes you don't even see them.
There's also modestus, they are a very bright green/gold color, pretty darn active and they've been around a lot more in local stores lately it seems. They'd be a good one to consider in additon to the others on your list.

I think you'd be happier with a F8 puffer (much more colorful & more interactive than the above) & a few bumblebee gobies or a pair of knight gobies. You're welcome to PM me about visiting my tanks in Franklin Park. Stop by after work!
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

What SG would the gobies need? If I get the f8, will any of the plants I have in there be able to survive with the salt? I have amazon swords, anubias nana and a big clump of crypt wendtii.
Will the puffer ignore the gobies?
I will probably get an f8 because I have not been able to find a store around here with irrubescos.
