krib with a f8?

The tank they are in has some bogwood which creates spaces to hide like caves. There are also a lot of plants so there are plenty of hiding places.

Do you think I should still introduce some pots?

Are they using the caves the bogwood makes? If not, I'd consider giving them a few smaller pots.

I've put some pots in the tank. It doesn't seem to make much difference.

I now think that the one doing the chasing is a female as the purple spot on the belly is very bold.

Would it help if I introduced some dither fish? I have a couple of mollies that I could put in the tank.

The nasty Krib doesn't really bother the other fish. Maybe it would see the mollies as a threat and take some of the heat off the other krib.

Let me dig up my male/female photo.. the female has a much darker belly spot and a rounder, shorter belly, and most of the time she bosses the male around. He only gets bossy if he's protecting fry. As long as she's not leaving visable marks on him, I'd say its normal.

I've purchased two Kribs, one male and one female. They have been introduced into my brackish tank with my F8s after I lowered the SG to allow for them. All seems to be well. The kribs ignore the other fish but the male is very aggressive towards the female.

Will they settle down? Is this normal behaviour? If it continues I may have to separate them.

The tank is heavily planted with lots of places to hide so I didn't anticipate this sort of problem.

My breeding kribs were very aggressive to all the other fish in the tank when guarding eggs and shepherding fry around. They took out a lot of fish before I separated them as they are extremely protective of their young

Just keep an eye out. I would think a male or a female in with your F8 might be better

I had to take my Gourami out of the tank with my Kribs- the male didn't like him in the tank...he never did anything but hang out in the top corner- but the male Krib would chase him just the same.
