F8 breeding?

Post by Neal »

Just wondering how i can find out a sex (if possible) of a fig8 , we now have two of these and they both seem to get on very well.. one is a bit bigger than the other.

Also wondering if anybody knows what they would lay eggs on? Plants/slate/gravel?
Neal.

Determining the sex of puffers by external anatomy is not possible. Puffers sex organs are internal. When puffers breed it is in shallow nests after new and full moons. Freshwater/brackish puffer males guard the eggs and fry. Eggs will usually hatch in 2-30 days.

It is not a question of whether they can speak or even reason, but whether they can suffer.

I beleive Ora_Lacerta has had succes with at least getting eggs. It should come up on a forum search.

I personally beleive that there may be very subtle differences between the genders, but I don't have enough research to back it up...yet.
