Palembangensis and Suvattii??
Palembangensis and Suvattii??
Can you put these two species together in the same tank if they are the same size. I have a 55 gallon tank that I want to put my Palembangensis in, and the LFS has a Suvattii for sale that I want to take off of there hands. Is there anyway that these two fish can be housed together? Has anyone ever tried?

Not mine. I have no doubts that my palembang would try to eat a suvatti. It has eaten, or tried to eat, everything that I've put in the tank with him (mostly things that were to be eaten - exception was my silus puffer when I first got the palembang. I thought it would be safe since it stayed up top and the palembang stayed on the bottom. Nope, woke up the next morning and the poor silus had a very large bite mark on both sides of his body. Palembangs have some very large mouths.
Luckily the silus healed and is happily living on his own, as is the palembang.
