Olive Nerites with F8s....ok so far

I've had Olive Nerite snails in with my F8s for a week now, and they're still doing ok.
The first day the puffers were interested in the snails, but acted like they didn't know what to do. They would just watch them, and nip once in a while.
The second day they had figured out they can knock them off the glass if they ram them hard enough. I was worried it was pretty much over for the snails, as some of them would land upside down and the puffers would circle around them and nip at them.
The third day all the snails were still alive, and I noticed they had crowded into 1 corner behind some rocks where the puffers had a hard time getting to them. I checked on them late in the night, and they were all cleaning the glass.
Forth day, and every day since: Most of the snails are burrowing into the gravel, they can almost completely cover themselves up. I've checked and they are still out every night once the lights are out. These snails are pretty smart.

I've seen them flipped over a few times, and they are always able to right themselves somehow. More importantly, the puffers are not able to eat them when they are upside down.

My F8s are still pretty young (between 1.5" - 2"). So I wouldn't be suprised if they eventually manage to eat the snails. I'll post updates.

It's now been a month since I last posted, so I thought I would post an update. All the Olive Nerites are still alive and kicking. I often don't see them at all during the day. They typically bury themselves in the substrate, or find a small crevice in the lace rock to hide. If I check in the middle of the night, I can usually find all of them out and about.

Once in a while I would find one overturned on the substrate, and figured out that they take a little while to hide when the lights first turn on. So a couple of weeks ago I bought moonlights and put them on another timer set to turn on 1 hour before the regular light turns on in the morning, and then right as the regular light turns off in the evening, and stays on for 1 hour. I think this gives the snails enough time to hide in the morning, as I haven't seen an overturned snail since I installed them.

Still not exactly a long term test, but I will try and post again in the future.
