Well Geoffrey(named him today...strange name I know..lol..but his little face reminds me of a guy named Geoffrey that used to work for me..lol) my Ceylon has been in his new tank for 24 hours now. He looks happy enough but is not accepting any food yet (have tried bloodworm and mussles) I am presuming like most of the fish I have in my other tank that he is simply just settling in??? How long before I should worry about him not eating??? He also has what looks like small bubbles on his belly, kind of like very small slimy bubles....might just be slimecoat?? There are lots of little bubbles in the tank from the air coming from the Fluval. It has an Air Flow Control Device that creates a Venturi Effect for added aeration. It looks like the bubbles from this are sticking to his slime....could this be possible???

You can JUST see the bubbles on his belly on this photo I managed to take... sorry it's not very clear but it was taken with my phone again!!

That happens to shakespeares slime coat now and then - I think it's just microbubbles not having enough "float" so they stick.

Update....bubbles have gone....guess I was being an over cautious parent..lol....STILL not eating though

Puffers on first arrival can refrain from eating for anything upto a month so don't worry just yet. Offer the food but remove it if he is not interested after a while.
Many puffers will not eat whilst people are present. Try offering the food then walking away.Alternatively try feed as the lights go out and then come back before you go to bed.
The bubbles are normal. Stop the venturi for a while and you will notice they should disappear.

I'm happier today....he ate some mussel this morning...not a lot but enough to round his belly and satisfy an anxious owner

I never knew that the Crews Hill branch of Maidenhead Aquatics stocked marine fish. I thought they were FW only.
