When salt level is low

To confuse you more, there has to be an easier way, cause when i have the water at 1.066, and i'm ready to do more water changes, i'm gonna have to add even more cups of sault... would it go by 2 or 4's? for instance to get it to 1.066 I need to add 6 cups of salt, then when I want to go to another .0016 to the aqurium, when it's level is already at 1.066 lol, has to be some sort of fomula.

Yeah, I believe you'd raise it by 2 cups each time you want to raise the salinity for the whole tank.

does this make sense, I just have to make sure my 15 gal pale is equal to my aquriam salt rating, then add the 1 extra cups of salt to raise it .0016 the pale up, then another cup of salt because of the 15 gal of water in the aqurium each time... so for instance if my aqurium salt rating is 1.006, I'd bring my 15 gal pale to that, then add the 1 cups of salt to raise .0016 for my pale, then another cup of salt to acount for the 15 gals in the aqurium.

Just to let you feel a lil bit better, this isn't a reef tank, where numbers have to be more exact. In BW, close id good enough. BW fish are used to fluctuations in SG. You'll get the hang of it eventually...

You are a good candidate for both investing in a refractometer and starting out right away by using the scale that directly measures salt in ppt (parts per thousand) - not SG, which infers salinity.
When raising salinity in a tank, remove 50% of your water. Say its 10 ppt. Mix enough salt in your mixing bucket to make 11 ppt. Your final salinity after adding that mix will be 10.5 ppt. - a gradual enough increase in salinity to avoid problems with your bacteria. After a while, you'll be "eyeballing" salt additions to your mixing bucket and never be off by more than 0.2 or 0.3 ppt. and adjusting by adding a bit more water or a bit more salt (full strength SW is 35ppt) to the mixing container. Make adjustments each week at water change time if the goal is to increase salinity.
