I've got crabs

I bought an Alaska king crab claw today.

I want to feed to my F8s. How do I feed it to them.

It is frozen. If I break it up with a hammer and toss in a couple of pieces with shell is that OK.

Is it OK to feed cooked seafood to puffers? Most crabs in crocery stores come precooked don't they?

Crab legs are recommended in the food article in the library, but I just realized that they are usually found precooked and frozen.

In frozen form, it is easy to saw them into pieces. Very messy food though.

I just thought of that the other day...

I feed my puffers pre-cooked frozen mussels. They are all still alive, and i've been feeding them that for 6 months.

I don't know about other foods though.

I believe cooking takes out a lot of the nutrients, so its better to use the raw/frozen/thawed stuff if you can find it.

I also feed my puffers frozen mussels, which I believe are pre-cooked. They seem to love them, not as much as the bumblebee gobies do though! I've been feeding them mussels once or twice a week for the last 4 or so months and I've had no problems.

I once asked about cooked foods. The answer I got was that a lot of the nutrients are taken out when the fish is cooked, but if it's uncooked, there's a much higher chance of giving your living fish bad bacteria from the raw fish food.
