DP tankmates

So sometime soon I'll be upgrading my lone dwarf puffer(about 3/4 inch long) to a 10 gallon. He will be in there with one otto at the current time (He was a hardy leftover from the last time I found ottos) I was thinking it would be pretty empty in there with just those two. Has anyone tried BB gobies with dwarves? That seems like it would be an interesting tank. I was thinking only two, if I went with it. I have no idea of my puffers temperment.

Generally its recommended to keep only otos with DPs. Anything else can and often does get shredded. BB gobies, IIRC, are best in brackish water.

BBG's can be kept in fresh or brackish water, but some aquarists find they can be kept easier in brackish. Personally I've kept a BBG in fresh for over a year now and he's doing fine, they are collected from freshwater areas in the wild.

You can keep BBG's with DP's as well, I've done so with no issues whatsoever. A small yellow and black fish gives off that sign of "danger" or "warning" in it's colouration.

I kept my bbg's with my 5 dp's for a while before I upgraded them with a fig8 to a 30g brackish. None of them had nip marks. AND I have 4 oto's, 5 neon tetras and a dwarf pleco in with my dp's and they get along fine as well. No nips, and it's been months. I would say that it definitely depends on thier personality. My dp's are kinda shy, except around feeding time and I have yet to see any type of aggression.
