SAP food

If someone could give me a link to some food I could get for my puffer. I've actually had him for a couple of years now and I don't have any reason for concern, but I know I should be feeding him snails and whatnot, but my crunchy shrimp and krill seem to be doing the trick. But if someone could point me in the direction of something else I would appreciate it. I want to keep him healthy.

PS - There are plenty of snails in the bottom on his tank from coming off plants, and he just leaves them be, doesn't seem interested in eating them.

Check out the food article in the library, all of those foods are a good choise for your puffer.

You know, this question seems to be asked every day. Maybe you need to make it much more prominent on the main page or something.

SAPs are funny about snails. Mine eat teenty-tiny Malayan livebearing snails, as well as the feet from Physa sp. pond snails (but rarely the whole thing). They do like woodlice (pillbugs) which are quite crunchy and perhaps a useful dietary supplement, provided they're from a clean source (i.e., not a garden sprayed with pesticides).

I agree. We could make it a rule that you have to search the forum for an awsner before posting a question. Thats how it is on another forum i'm on, and it works pretty well.

Eventually the forum could just get clogged with the same questions being awsnered hundereds of times.

Just a thought.

Yea, you should be less concerned about answering questions again, YOU don't have to post a response.

What I'm really looking for is a link or somewhere to buy it. And also about mine not eating the snails it has. Thanks nmonks and rocker

You didn't ask for a link for places to obtain food. If that's what you were looking for, you should have been more specific. You'd understand the frustration if you had to answer the same question every single day, day in and day out, when the answer to the question is posted on the main page of the site.

they should eat snails, seriously. Dont feed them anything else and when they get hungry they will hunt...my dp does it so i'd imagine a SAP would...seeing how they are probably better suited to hunting snails.

I am sorry if I offended you, that was not my intention. I was not mad at you in any way, and was not necesarily reffering to your post.

Boxermom pretty much summed it up. Your original question wasn't 100% clear to me. To me it sounded like you were asking what kind of foods would help keep a SAPs teeth trimmed. You can imagine how frustrating it would be to have to awsner that same question twice per day, when like Boxermom said, its right on the main page.
