so at a new petsmart today, they had leopard puffers in the saltwater section. The info said they get to be about 6 inches, I looked in the pufferpedia but didn't find it in marine or brackish...is this possibly a freshwater puffer?
**edit** I see that the GSP is known as a leopard, but these looked nothing like a GSP (there was one really tiny one that looked sort of like a gsp, but most of these had almost hexagon shaped pathces on them..and were more brownish than green).

Your Petsmart has Saltwater? Didn't realize any store had saltwater. Anyway, Petco has a Leopard puffer labeled as a Tetraodon Fluvalitus, but it is a GSP, not a F8.

Our Petco has a SW section. Thankfully no puffers in either section.

Actually thats what it is..those look just like the ones in the petsmart the fluvalitus...just a darker brown color.

Color can vary in the same species.

Yea, are these pretty much the same as GSP as far as care and size?

fluviatilis? generally yes as far as care, they get to be a little bigger I believe, around 8" where the GSP is around 6".

oh snap, fluviatilis is a ceylon isn't it... I thought at first that was a fig 8. So Petco had them labeled right.
