Confused and need some advice

Another question I have is.....I bought fresh water testing kit. Should I have bought the one for salt water instead?

I also want to get some bio spira, which one do I buy? Fw Or SW?

Or you could crush the snail before you drop it in.

The snail has no chance...if it makes it easier for your puff to get at it and eat, crush it.

Puffers, especially young or small puffers, have size and shell strength limits on what they can bite and crush. Crushing snails as a training technique aiding recognition of a captive food supply and enabling feeding response when using snails of inappropriate size is standard practice among puffer keepers. If you do not intend the snails to be food, keep them out of puffer tanks. If you value the snails more than the puffers, keep snails and return the puffers. This forum is aimed at puffers in captivity. These fish are not vegetarians.

You are entitled to your opinions, but as advice that is poor IMHO.

I Really need to know if I should buy fresh water or salt water bio spira for brackish water. I would like to get it here soon as I worry that I am not near cycled enough. I really do appreciate all the information I am getting here, I just need to keep it sorted out.

I'm 99% sure Freshwater BS is ok for up to 1.012, which is mid-brackish. Someone with more experience will confirm this, but I'd say you're safe to buy freshwater BS.

Ah Bio-Spira...if only you could get past US - UK customs...one day........one day.
I might do a bit of investigating, to see if this can be done and UK shops can start importing it.
