So excited! My snails are breeding.
Ok, so its been about a week since i startd up my snail breeder tank. Its a 2.5Gallon aquarium with a corner filter in it and a filter bag full of crushed coral. Anyways, i checked the tank today and saw several clear sacs on the glass with little whitesh balls(eggs) inside. Very excited since i want a good colony up and breeding before i get any puffers.
I might have asked this before but i forget, what kind of output(snail wise) can i expect from such a small setup? i want to feed my puffs snails as a staple, and depending on the snail breeder output will determine how many DP's (max of 3) i will get.

I have a 2.5 gallon tank as my snail breeder and it produces enough snails to feed my 2 DPs about 3-5 snails each, every other day or so (I used to have 3 dps and it was enough for the 3 of them also). I never really have an abundance of snails in there, but its usually enough to get by. I think a bigger tank would be be able to sustain a larger population, but for 3 DPs it should work alright.

One would be great in a 10g, he/she would likely love it, especially if its densely planted/decorated.
You could also get 3 otos to put in there, too. DPs and otos often get along well.
