If the minimum tank size for a GSP is 30 gallons, shouldn't a Ceylon's be larger than that, given it's larger size? Maybe in the way of 40?

While I'm making suggestions, I think it would be a good idea to have a "recommended" tank size as well as a minimum in the PufferPedia.

I really think we ought to up the GSP tank size too. Kismet, the GSP my family had for three years, was way too cramped in his 30 gallon. He looked like a betta in a bowl in that tank.

40 gal minimum seems much more reasonable to me than 30. Also since it is bigger than the larger "standard" home tanks it may help people think thrice before buying that cute, innocent-looking little marble-sized fish...

Been thinking about this issue and have previously upgraded minimum tank size for quite a few of the profiles (mainly freshwater puffers).

We are listing minimum tank sizes, and assuming good care and setup and handling. Minimum is never optimum, never. We need to define our terms to have better understanding.

The best setup for a GSP or a Ceylon would emulate an estuary or mangrove channel, but that is not very likely or realistic. Of course a 40 is better for each, and a 55 better still -given appropriate equipment and care and handling. But do we realistically want to set that as the minimum? I do think that would damage our credibility, especially when most of us do not that.
