After seeing Stinky's pics of his new Mappa I checked out the info on it on the PufferPedia.
My question is about the minimum tank size. 200g to me just seems a little small for a puffer that can reach over 2ft when compared to the minimum recommended minimum tank size of an Mbu which would be comparable in size.
Stinky's proposed 500g tank seems a much more suitable minimum for a puffer of this size.

As you know the pufferpedia contains many different species of puffer fish. Whilst we have tried our best to make the info as accurate as possible they will inevitably be the odd question about one fact or another. We welcome suggestions and are open to comments. The profile has now been altered accordingly.
Some call it a product of a mis-spent youth, I call it Rock n Roll !

The PufferPedia is a great resource and I dont expect it to be 100% accurate with all the different species that are on there. It was more to satisfy my own curiosity.
I was trying to picture the gallonage in terms of useful space. A 7x2x2 seemed a little small and then I thought 6x3x3 which is over 300 would probably be more suitable.
If some useful information has come out of my question for the PufferPedia then thats a bonus.
And lets face it, its a rarity for one of my posts to come up with any useful information.
