Bad news!!

Work up this morning to find half the eggs missing. On closer inspection I noticed the male had lost his aggression towards me.

Update

He has abandoned the eggs and gone looking for the female again. They are going throught the motions again!

I still have around 10 eggs but not sure what to do now dad has gone.

Well I am left with just three eggs now. The others have either been eaten or they have been brushed off the slate where I cannot see them.
The remaining three have been removed to a seperate tank and seem to be doing ok. They are slowly developing into fry.
The male and female have been very quiet recently but this morning I noticed the male cleaning the new piece of slate I have put in for them. The 'cleaning' of the slate is a very precise thing done by the male. He will position his body verticle, head down, take several 'gulps' and blow onto the area. This is similar to how they 'blow' gravel/sand away.He will then dive at the slate (as if he was going to bury himself) but pull up to rub his belly along the area he has just blown on.He will move forward across the area wriggling his body from side to side to clean the slate. He will then swim off to check the area, then return for a repeat.

Any chance you can get a video of him 'in action'? 3 fry for a first try is pretty good isn't it? Bet you'll be overrun soon :D What will you do with the fry - keep them or sell on?

do you mean him cleaning the slate?

There is still along way to go yet as they are still in the egg stage. The clear eggs now have a definate brown'shape' in them that look like the fry. The little info we know say they are free swimming around 6 days. It has been 6 days now and although there has been a definated developement in the eggs I am starting to get a little concerned.

They are still egss but both are still alive. With a magnifying glass I can see their eyes moved.
I have grave doubts of keeping these alive. They are so tiny. I will struggle to feed them

Unfortunately I do not have my camera until Saturday. I have my phone which I have taken some pics but yet to see the quality. i will post if any good.

Yes, feeding seems to be the problem w/sucessfully spawning puffers in captivity.

I guess 3 will be easier to raise than 300!
